Fritz Miller has been our Sacred Heart Catholic Chaplin for Camp Munz and Camp Mendenhall for over 30 years. He was recognized by the County of Los Angeles in 2014 and was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" for his many years if outstanding service. Fritz continues to minister to the young men's Catholic worship twice a week as well as managing all sacramental records. Along with a team of volunteers, Fritz shares the faith in one on one sessions for extended Catechism.

Fr Greg Boyle has been visiting both camps regularly for over 30 years as well. Fr Greg is the founder of Homeboy Industries and is instrumental in assisting the boys out of gang life when they return home, as well as bringing comfort and Sacraments to them in camp.

We are lucky to have two dedicated Deacons, Deacon Jason Schalow and Deacon Greg Halamicek, to provided a weekly clergy presence and perform Baptisms, First Communion, and bringing the Word of God in Liturgy Services.  Our Pastor, Father Tom Baker, goes to both camps and the Challenger Facility to bring the boys Priestly Sacraments like Reconciliation and to celebrate Mass.

Steve Gomez is the Challenger Facility Catholic Chaplin appointed by the Archdiocese.  He brings the boys spiritual support and guidance. With the help of volunteers, Steve instructs the boys in faith and Sacramental preparation.
