Pray for me that I may grow deeply in my spiritual journey. Give me the wisdom to discern with clear understanding the holy path to my walk of faith. Guide me to help the poor with love and compassion.
Dear God, bless me with your bountiful grace that I may serve You with humility and joy. This I ask, through our Lady’s intercession in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Message from our President
Holiday Greetings everyone,
I hope your Christmas and New Years were fun, relaxing, and family filled joy.
December was quite the busy month; the toy drive was a huge success and many thanks to the Sacred Heart and St. Serra parishioners who generously filled our toy shed for the Christmas giveaway.
God bless, especially, our volunteers who spent countless hours buying, sorting, and bagging all the holiday food bag pickups and deliveries. I am proud to be a part of this selfless group that gives so much to make Our Lady of Charity a community of serving others in our Lord’s name.
A quick shoutout and thanks to Sprouts for coming through with cloth totes and eggs at the last minute to complete our Christmas bag program.
This coming year I am looking forward to the same dedication and hard work to accomplish our goal of providing for the poor and homeless in the Antelope Valley. Also, I am looking forward to the completion of our building at Site 2 that will certainly help us out.
The Lord is our Shepherd,
Paul
REMINDER:St Vincent will be closed from our Food Bag Distributionon December 23rd to January 4th.

. Chapter 7.Concerning Baptism. And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before.

Thank you for all that you do to support the Society and those you serve. May this festive season bring you peace, happiness, and countless blessings.
May your 2024 Be Better Than Biscuits
A pastor asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast. "Lord, I hate buttermilk," the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going. The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned. Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't care much for raw white flour." The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable. Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen.”
From Bishop Robert Barron
The role of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, in this extending of the Incarnation. The ancient Apostles’ Creed says that Christ was “conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary.” Thus, the two great figures involved in Christ coming to birth were the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Mother. This was true two thousand years ago, and it’s still true today: this, too, is an ongoing event, not a one-off event from long ago, because Christ wants to be born in each of us. St. Paul declares, “It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.” And who brings Christ to birth in us but the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Mother? This is precisely why she is not only the Mother of Christ but also the Mother of the Church. She provides a kind of matrix for the life and work of the Church.
