Centennial of Mexican Martyrs / Centenario de los Mártires Cristeros de México

As the Centennial of the Mexican Martyrs approaches (1926-2026), a committee has been set up to plan different celebrations (some in English and some in Spanish) throughout the archdiocese to educate the faithful on those important events that contributed to the faith of many of our immigrant families.

The first event, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the canonization of the first group of martyrs, will take place on Saturday, May 17th, at Our Lady of the Rosary of Talpa in East Los Angeles. The celebrations will go from 12 to 7pm and will include presentations on the Mexican Martyrs and a Mass at 6pm offered by Cardinal Roger Mahony.

Other celebrations throughout the next twelve months will conclude with a one-day Congress on the Mexican Martyrs at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Al acercarse el centenario de los mártires cristeros de México (1926-2026) se ha formado un comité en nuestra arquidiócesis para planear eventos en inglés y en español para educar a los fieles sobre esos acontecimientos que forjaron la fe en muchas de nuestras familias inmigrantes.

El primer evento, celebrando los 25 años de la canonización del primer grupo de mártires, se llevará a cabo el sábado, 17 de mayo, en la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Talpa en Los Ángeles. Habrá presentaciones comenzando a las 12pm y concluirá con la Santa Misa celebrada por el Cardenal Mahony.

A lo largo de los próximos doce meses tendremos otras celebraciones en las diferentes regiones y concluiremos con un magno congreso en la catedral el sábado, 18 de abril del 2026.
