PROTECT CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MATERIALS FOR DISTRIBUTION

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

As we commemorate National Child Abuse Prevention Month in our Archdiocese, we reaffirm our longstanding commitment to supporting victim-survivors of abuse, protecting minors and the vulnerable, and doing all we can to prevent abuse in our parishes, schools and ministries.
 
To assist our parishes and schools in informing your communities of the programs and services available to victim-survivors and the ongoing efforts to prevent abuse, the Archdiocese has mailed each parish and school the following materials for distribution:

·Posters in English and Spanish with a comprehensive overview of our outreach to victim- survivors, reporting and prevention efforts.
·Prayer cards to offer our continued prayers for those who may be suffering in our communities. Please place the posters and prayer cards in public places where they can be easily seen by those visiting or worshiping at the parish.
·A sample printout of the poster in flier size. The flier and the other materials that have been mailed are available online on the Protect page of the ADLA website athttps://LACatholics.org/protect/protect-resources/. This flier can be inserted in your parish bulletins, distributed at the end of Mass, or placed near the bulletins to be picked up by the faithful and visitors. Schools can display the poster in public spaces and distribute the flier as appropriate.
 
Additionally, the ADLA Protect webpage, LACatholics.org/protect, provides important information on our on-going efforts to support victim-survivors and reporting suspected misconduct coordinated through our Victims Assistance Ministry; our Safeguard the Children trainings for adults and minors on abuse prevention; and the longstanding history of our efforts to provide transparency on how these matters are handled. We hope this page serves as a resource to share this information with your parish community during April, Child Abuse Prevention Month and throughout the year.

Al conmemorar el Mes Nacional de la Prevención del Abuso en nuestra Arquidiócesis, reafirmamos nuestro compromise de larga de data de apoyo a las víctimas-sobrevivientes de abuso, la protección de los menores y de los más vulnerables, y hacer todo lo posible para prevenir el abuso en nuestras parroquias, escuelas y ministerios.

Para ayudar a nuestras parroquias y escuelas a informar a sus comunidades sobre los programas y servicios disponibles para las víctimas-sobrevivientes y los esfuerzos continuos para prevenir el abuso, la Arquidiócesis ha enviado por correo regular a cada parroquia y escuela los siguientes materiales para su distribución:
 

• Pósters en inglés y español con una descripción integral de nuestro alcance a las víctimas-sobrevivientes, informes y esfuerzos de prevención.
• Tarjetas de oración para ofrecer nuestras oraciones continuas por aquellos que puedan estar sufriendo en nuestras comunidades. Por favor coloque los carteles y las tarjetas de oración en lugares públicos donde puedan ser vistos fácilmente por quienes visitan o llegan a orar a la parroquia.
• Una copia impresa de muestra del póster en tamaño volante. El volante y los demás materiales que se han enviado por correo están disponibles en línea en la página Protect (Proteger) del sitio web de la ADLA en https://LACatholics.org/protect/protect-resources/. Este volante puede insertarse en los boletines parroquiales, distribuirse al final de la Misa o colocarse cerca de los boletines para que los fieles y visitantes los puedan llevar. Las escuelas puede exhibir el póster en espacios públicos y distribuir el volante si lo consideran apropiado.
