Dear Brother Priests,
Time certainly flies as we move into the month of November, enter the
last few weeks of Ordinary Time, and prepare for the coming of our
Lord in Advent.
Our Office began our deanery visits in October and we hope to reach
all of them by November. It has been great meeting with and talking
with all of you about the joy and importance of vocations. We
celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week - Nov. 5th-11th. This is a
great week to emphasize and pray for vocations in your parish, school,
ministries, etc. We encourage every parish to pray for vocations this
week. If you have a parish school, please encourage them to
participate in our annual Live Virtual Lesson and Vocation Poster
Contest. More information can be found at
https://lavocations.org/national-vocation-awareness-week
We are preparing and finalizing our presbyteral gathering with the
topic of Vocation Ministry. The date is tentatively set for Wednesday,
January 24th. Fliers with more information about the workshop and
how to register will be distributed later this month. This day is for all
priests serving in the Archdiocese.
We had an intense Priests vs. Seminarians Basketball Game on October
13th with over 800 people in attendance. The Seminarians were once
again victorious for a 3-peat. We look forward to welcoming a couple
of their players onto #TeamPriests once ordained this year.
As we approach Thanksgiving, we thank each of you for your
priesthood and all that you do in your parishes and ministry. Thank you
for sharing the love of your vocation with others.
In Christ,
Fr. Mike and Fr. Peter
